As an international journal, representing individuals from over thirty countries, we felt that our map should reflect the true size and proportion of each country and also upset the traditionally Eurocentric view of the world. As such, Stance chose to use the Dymaxion projection which preserves land area and centers the map on the North Pole rather than the Atlantic Ocean. The result is a more accurate geography of the world which asks us to reconsider our traditional spatial views and reorient our own perspective on the land while honoring our authors and their countries of origin equally.
